Looking for a last-minute idea on how to spruce up your Thanksgiving dinner? Get a long strip of fabric, a hot glue gun and a pile of family photo prints – a charming table runner will be ready in no time!
The idea comes from Ruffled, and although the runner was originally used as part of a wedding design, it seems such a great idea to decorate a Thanksgiving table with happy memories of family moments. Going over the photos together, telling stories and recalling memorable events will greatly add to the special atmosphere of the day.
All you need is a strip of fabric, a hot glue gun and copies of the photos you’d like to use (they don’t need to be black and white, but a simple color scheme seems a little more elegant). An alternate idea is using music sheets, though chances are notes will not be good conversation starters.
Going from one end, hot glue the pictures to the fabric in a way that they overlap. When you get to the middle, start from the other end so that the photos meet halfway nicely. For a dramatic effect, you can make the fabric floor length, but a shorter runner will look equally beautiful.
